Workshop Highlights:
• Comprehensive Curriculum: Covering a wide range of topics, these workshops are designed to be both informative and interactive. The techniques taught are easy to grasp, simple to apply, and easy to remember, making them accessible to all participants.
• Hands-On Learning: With a focus on practical application, participants will engage in exercises that may push them out of their comfort zones, offering both mental and physical challenges.

What will I learn at this workshop?
What we teach is how to deal with the worst-case scenario, when the awareness, avoidance and de-escalation have failed, it all turns physical, there's no obvious way to escape & you must hit back and get to safety.
You will learn the vital parts of the body - parts of the body that are vulnerable & easy to attack.
Learn how to block an attack confidently.
Learn how to defend yourself against slaps, punches, pushes & grabs.
Learn to defend yourself against headlocks, hair grabbing, and wrist grabs.
Learn how to defend yourself against chokeholds, and bear hugs.
Learn how to defend yourself on the ground.
Learn effective rape defence techniques.
Learn how to use your hands, legs, knees & elbows as weapons.
Learn to defend yourself against many other types of attacks with confidence.
Plus, lots, lots more. (depending on the time allowed & the participant's progression)

What do I need to bring?
All you need to take with you is a positive attitude, comfortable clothing, a drinks bottle & towel plus something to eat during the breaks.

Please note:
* Workshops are rated R13+ due to the content taught.
* These workshops take people out of their comfort zone & can be both physically & mentally demanding at times. If unsure seek your doctor's advice before undertaking any form of physical training, or have a word with the instructor.

**This is a FREE workshop, however we do encourage participants who are able, to make a donation to Womens Safety Services SA. (Donations over $2 are tax deductible.)

Many people are forced to flee violent relationships with nothing, and find themselves needing to make many expensive purchases as they rebuild their lives. This includes new clothes, necessities for their children, groceries, fuel, furniture and the cost of moving house.
Donations to WSSSA can help support women in this difficult transitory period by giving them the choice to buy what they need. They can also help to provide therapeutic programs for people impacted by domestic and family violence, and to enhance our services.
You can make a donation via Paypal or direct bank deposit, or cash at the workshop. Every donation and every dollar makes a difference to this essential local service.
